Soft and Fluffy Comfort Half-Hanten

For those looking for a soft and fluffy half-hanten, we recommend Miyata Orimono’s Araware half-hanten. The lining uses the auspicious Seigaiha (blue ocean wave) pattern. This product is also popular as a gift. Made in Japan.

This half-hanten uses Araware, a traditional Japanese cotton fabric known for its soft texture. The bright colors — vermilion red for women and deep indigo for men — make it popular as a paired gift set. The lining features the Seigaiha pattern, a traditional motif symbolizing peaceful life, inspired by the endlessly repeating waves on the vast ocean.

This is part of Miyata Orimono’s traditional wadded half-hanten series, a lineage that dates back to 1965 when they began producing wadded garments.

Hanten and Yakko Styles

The Araware series offers both a long-sleeve wadded half-hanten and a short-sleeve wadded yakko style. The long-sleeve half-hanten is designed with warmth in mind for men, while the short-sleeve yakko is practical for women, especially during housework where sleeves can get in the way. You can choose based on the wearer’s needs or gift preferences.
